Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a gentle and effective way of healing the body naturally. It is based on the theory that blood and nerve circulation nourishes the entire body through a network of channels.

It is when there is a block of this circulation that illness begins. Acupuncture regulates this circulation in these channels, allowing the body to receive what it needs to heal itself.

Most people find acupuncture to be extremely relaxing.

Acupuncture is one branch of traditional Chinese medicine and has been practiced for thousands of years. In fact, it is one of the oldest continuous medical systems in history.

The Western definition of acupuncture
is the stimulation of specific points on the body that causes a number of physiologic and biochemical responses. By inserting hair-like disposable needles into these points, receptor sites are stimulated that send impulses through the nervous system to the hypothalamus and pituitary gland of the brain.

The result is the release of hormones that cause pain relief, decreased inflammation, increased circulation, improved digestion and metabolism, a boosted immune response and an elevated mood.
